World War 2 Event at Old Sarum Castle

Saturday 25th - Monday 27th August saw English Heritage staging a World War II living history event and The Rifles Museum took part. We provided images and archives taken from our collection relating to World War II and uniforms for people to look at.

The event was a huge success - more than 7,500 visitors attended the three days and were treated to a 20 minute aerial display by a 'Spitfire' and 'Hurricane', battle re-enactments, firing displays, static displays that included vehicles and a search light, a field hospital, encampments by British, American and German forces, a live music concert of WW2 songs and of course ourselves!
