The final freedom parade for the Royal Goucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Light Infantry took place in Windsor on a sunny 15th October afternoon. The 1st Battalion was joined by a contingent and Colours from the 2nd Battalion, together with a large number of serving officers and Old Comrades.

After a rousing display by the Light Division Band in Victoria Barracks the parade marched up to the Guildhall, where it was greeted and inspected by the Mayor of Windsor and Maidenhead. There was a presentation of Long Service and Good Conduct Medals and also of certificates for gallant conduct during the 1st Battalion's recent tour of Afghanistan.

The parade then marched off past the statue of Queen Victoria into the castle, where a reception was held, attended by HRH The Prince Philip, Colonel-in-Chief of the Regiment.
