Back in February, the museum resembled a film set when 'Lion TV' arrived to film an episode of 'The History Detectives'. This programme will be aired on BBC Two on Friday 12th October at 7.30pm.
The producers had received a piece of lead and silk from Napoleons' coffin, and thanks to our website had discovered that the 66th Regiment, who were in St. Helena at the time of his death had done duty over his body. They also wanted to know the name of the soldier who had acquired it, so they came along to the Wardrobe to find out more.
The research and interview for the programme was carried out by our well known volunteer, Martin MacIntyre and the presenter who was also here for the filming was Neil Oliver - 'The Coast', 'Two Men in a Trench' and 'Time Team, 'Big Royal Dig'. Also here was Phil Harding - 'Time Team' who had dropped in to say hello to Neil and a collegue who was one of the production team.
