Final Freedom Parades
The final Freedom Parades by the Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Light Infantry (RGBWLI) took place between Saturday 7th October and Sunday 15th October 2006. Details of the dates and routes are given below. This was the very last time the RGBWLI exercised its right to march with 'colours flying, bayonets fixed and drums beating' in is local 'Freedom' towns. In February 2007 the County names disappeared forever when RGBWLI became part of the 1st Battalion The Rifles.
The Museum has already been given several donations of photographs/video footage of the parades, but would be pleased to receive any futher donations.
