How to Donate an Item
Please contact us first in writing or by email before sending any items as we are unable to return them. Please give as much information as you can about the item. A photograph would also be really useful.
We will then consider the details and if the item is accepted we will be in touch to explain what happens next.
We are not able to accept everything that is offered to us. This might be because:
The item does not fall into our Collecting Criteria, for example is not from a former Berkshire or Wiltshire regimental unit.
The item is not in good condition
If this item is not suitable then we will try to suggest other possible institutions who may be interested.
What happens to the item?
If it is accepted by us, then the item will be stored in our Collections. It may be used in our permanent displays, temporary exhibitions and loaned to other Accredited institutions.
The item may be useful for “handling” purposes, for example for education sessions.
If you’d like to contact us about your item, then please write to
