Entry 5.45am. Attack commenced. 99th Brigade having 23rd RF, 1st KRRC and 2 Companies 22nd RF assaulting. A Company moved up to O.B.L. carrying up SAA and water. 8.30am. A Company commenced carrying SAA and bombs from O.B.L. to captured positions. 12 noon. C Company carried up SAA and bombs from Brigade HQrs to O.B.L., returning on completion of work. 3.30pm. A Company sent 2 platoons to reinforce KRRC in captured position. The enemy shelled throughout the day, principally on communication trenches and tracks leading to the rear. Weather wet and misty. Casualties. CAPTAIN E B METHVEN wounded. OR's 1 killed and 11 wounded.
