Entry | 3.00am. Heavy hostile shelling which lasted until about 7.30am. 9.15am. Water, which had been short, was brought up. Enemy quiet during the day. 5 - 6.30pm. Enemy artillery put a barrage on neighbourhood of Battn Hd Qrs. This caught some of the men of the Dorset Rgt who were coming up to relieve another unit of the 99th Bde. 5.00pm. The 1st Manchester Rgt continued to relieve the Battn. 12.00 MN. Relief of the Battn completed. Battalion moved to billets at MAILLY-MAILLET. Casualties 2 OR's killed, 5 OR's wounded, 1 OR missing. |
