| Entry | 8.30 am to 12 noon. Battalion moved into trenches in SERRE RIGHT SUB SECTOR, occupying ELLIS SQUARE EAST. Slight hostile shelling. Condition of trenches very bad owing to wet. 12 Noon to 6.00 pm. Battalion lay in ELLIS SQUARE. Enemy artillery very active. After 6.00pm until midnight shelling much less in volume. Weather good all day. |
