Entry B and C companies on relief proceeded to dugouts in western edge of BERNAFAY wood. 10am. CO's conference at Brigade Hdqs, where it was announced that the Brigade would attack DELVILLE WOOD on the morning of the 27th, the Btn to be in support. 5pm. Company Commanders and the CO went up to view the ground over which the attack was to be carried out. A Company was detached under orders of OC 23rd RF. 8.45pm. CO and Company Commanders returned. Gas shells commenced to fall in the wood and helmets had to be worn almost continuously until midnight.
