Entry Relief complete 6.30am. Battalion on left 1st GORDON HIGHLANDERS, on right 1st KOSLI. Shelling in the neighbourhood of the village was very heavy and rendered movement difficult. Dispositions of Companies were as follows: Three Companies front line, one in support. The village was shelled intermittently throughout the day. At 8pm orders were received to withdraw the right and left front companies after relief by a company of the DURHAMS and a company of the SHROPSHIRES respectively. The front centre company and the support company were to remain in position.
