Entry | A certain amount of work was done during the day, but as a raid on the German trenches arranged by the Brigade on our left, work had to be suspended owing to the enemy's bombardment which was very severe and took the form of a barrage on TALUS des ZOUAVES, beginning about 7pm and continuing until 9pm and from then until daylight (2.15pm) the shelling was heavy and prevented work on the trenches being continued. The day on was generally quiet. Weather showery. |
