War Diary

1916-05-24
Regiment 1st Royal Berkshire
Location France, BERTHONVAL SECTOR
Entry On taking over from the 22nd RF, Battn was ordered to commence work on a new line about 250 yards in front of the TALUS des ZOUAVES which at that time only consisted of shallow trenches. Work was commenced at once and considerable progress made. On the whole the day was quiet and with the exception of occasional shelling of the communication trenches the enemy showed no activity.
