| Entry | Battalion entrained at CALONNE RICOUART STA at 2 pm and was conveyed to HERSIN arriving at 5 pm. The train was a tactical one. The distance from DIVION to HERSIN by road was about 4 miles whereas by rail the distance was something like 20 miles. From HERSIN we marched to BOUVIGNY halting for half an hour in order not to clash with the 1st KRRC who were leaving BOUVIGNY at 7pm. We discovered that during our absence the place had been shelled fairly heavily, the 1st KRRC having sustained numerous casualties. Weather very wet. |
