Regiment 1st Royal Berkshire
Location France, SOUCHEZ RIGHT
Entry Nothing of importance occurred. Both our aircraft and hostile aircraft were very active. Hostile artillery active and the left front company was slightly shelled with light field guns between 5.30pm and 6.30pm. No damage done. Excellent weather and consequently much work done in front trenches and Headquarters trench. Company road is still worked at under RE supervision and two working parties are found by us nightly for that. Enemy still very quiet and expose themselves frequently during day, but until our trenches are much improved it is essential for us to remain quiet also. Enemy are doing a considerable amount of work on their lines.
