War Diary

1916-02-26
Regiment 1st Royal Berkshire
Location France, BOURECQ
Entry Ordered to entrain from LILLERS at 4.31. The Battn marched to LILLERS STA and were conveyed to NOEUX LES MINES where we arrived about 5.30pm. The Battn then proceeded by road to billets in BARLIN arriving about 8pm. A slight hitch occurred as regards billets and it was 10 o'clock before we finally settled down. This was the first time English troops had occupied this sector. On the whole billets were comfortable although scattered. The C.O. and 2 Coy Commanders went up this day to see the part of the line to be taken over from the French.
