War Diary

1916-02-05
Regiment 1st Royal Berkshire
Location France, GIVENCHY B2 SubSec
Entry Conditions much the same as preceding days. Enemy grenades again annoyed our saps. About 3.30pm LE PLANTIN was lightly shelled by the enemy. Minenwerfer were active from 5pm to 10pm against our right Coy. From PRINCES ISLAND enemy could be heard working. Work on parapets continued. The supply of rifle grenades was inadequate and we were not able to retaliate in the way we should have liked. Weather fine. Two men wounded by rifle grenades.
