Home of the Infantry Regiments of Berkshire and Wiltshire

War Diary

1915-12-26
Regiment 1st Royal Berkshire
Location France, ANNEQUIN FOSSE
Entry The battalion was ordered to supply large working parties amounting in all to about 400 men and a proportionate amount of officers. These were used chiefly for carrying material to the front line trenches and for work there under RE supervision. Some of the battalion worked for about 6 hours, others for shorter periods, but as the work was all done during the day the fatigue was not such an arduous affair.
