| Entry | Work of clearing trenches continued. Work on sap continued, but as this continually fell in little progress was made. The 23rd R Fusiliers (Sportsmans Battn) supplied a party which worked on BOYAU 15 and between BOYAUX 15 AND 16. LEWIS KEEP, in which we had 2 sections of the Reserve Coy was worked on and made quite habitable. The enemy shelled with "Fizzbangs" the section between 14 & 15 BOYAUX and also in the early morning about 5 am they opened rapid rifle and machine gun fire lasting about 10 minutes. No damage was done in either case. Weather intermittent heavy showers. |
