Entry Light showers. The day passed without incident, all German activity being directed against 5th Bde at TILLEUL. Aeroplane reconnaissance very active. During night 19/20 2 Coys 2/So Staffords had relieved 1/KRR. No instructions sent to me to change at time. Germans entrenching further. Received order that 1/Rifle Bde would relieve 1/RB Rgt during night. 3rd reinforcement Lt Nicholson, Sgt Painter and 91 other ranks arrvd BOURG. Casualties. Lt C.P.Wheeler wounded. Other ranks. Died of wounds 2, wounded 7. Missing (Sgt Durnham?) 1. Sgt Durnham known to be wounded.
