Entry Owing to enemy working being heard near one of our listening galleries a defensive mine was blown up immediately south of GIBSONS Crater at 6 am. The new crater opposite C Coy was manned at once on the near edge. The party withdrew when it was light as they could [not?] get back by daylight except across the open. The explosion did a certain amount of damage to our own front trench - about 60 yards of it being blown in between BOYAU 19 and sap leading to GIBSONS Crater. Battn relieved by 23rd R Fusiliers. Complete 1 pm. BEUVRY - occupied 23rd RF billets. Casualties during tour: 1 killed, 4 wounded. 2/Lt Cook and 2 NCO's to Divisional school. 2/Lt Mousley on leave.
