Entry Cleaning up throughout morning. Battn relieved in the trenches by 1st KRRC. Owing to very bad state of the trenches the relief took a very long time. Relief complete 2.30pm, started 12.30pm. Several men from last Coy and half to come out had to be literally dug out of the mud before they were able to get clear of the communication trenches. A great many men very exhausted and their clothing and equipment being very dirty. Total casualties during tour 1 killed 1 wounded. Colonel May on leave.
