Entry Enemy artillery inactive. 2/LT J C CREWFORD and 21 OR patrolled POST and CODA SPURS. Movement and voices were heard in the valley between POST and VAISTER SPURS. An enemy Patrol was seen moving along wire E to W and movement was heard on CODA SPUR. An enemy patrol appeared 50 yards ahead working along their wire. 5 men were seen against the skyline but a large party was heard. The patrol challenged by the Officer, and as they halted, but did not reply, fire was opened on it. 5 men were seen to fall and cries were heard. Numerous Very Lights were sent up from enemy Front Line. Patrol withdrew owing to enemy patrols on flank and returned at 1.45am. Weather:- lovely day. Remarks Weekly State marked "A6" 8 OR Reinforcements joined for duty. Casualties:- 1 OR slightly wounded. 1 OR to Hospital sick.
