Entry Training as on the 10th. One round of the Brigade Inter-Half Battalion Football Competition was played LEFT HALF GLOSTERS v RIGHT HALF R BERKS, the latter winning by 1 goal to nil. Notification was received that the Battalion had won the DIVISIONAL SIGNAL COMPETITION held on the 11th and following congratulatory messages were received from the BUCKS BN and 1/5th GLOSTERS respectively:- " Hearty congratulations on keeping the 'OLD FLAG' so successfully flying for the 145 INF BDE. BUCKS SIGNAL SECTION" " 1/5th Bn GLOUCESTERSHIRE Regiment wish to convey their hearty congratulations to 1/4th ROYAL BERKS Regt on winning the DIVISIONAL SIGNAL COMPETITION" D LEWIS Lieut Col Commanding 1/5th Bn GLOS Regiment. A Contact Aeroplane flew over the Training Ground during the evening, demonstrating, with rockets, the various heights when it was within and outside the range of Lewis Gun Fire. Weather:- very hot day. Remarks 2 OR to Hospital sick.
