War Diary

1915-10-08
Regiment 1st Royal Berkshire
Location France, BETHUNE
Entry Routine as the 6th inst. Remission of sentence for gallantry. 8777 Pte Sparrow and 9792 Pte Combley had their FGCM sentence remitted by the GOC 6th Brigade for their gallantry during the recent fighting. 2 "Lewis" QF guns taken on the strength. 6.pm Battalion collected and proceeded to bivouac just West of Beuvry with the remainder of 6th Brigade. As the Guards Division repulsed the attack we returned to barracks. Considering the men were out in the town when the order to move was received, this move was quiet good.
