Entry "A" Company football team proceeded by motor lorry to PAESE leaving at 9am, playing "B" Company of the BUCKS in the Brigade Inter-Company Football Competition winning by 3 goals to nil. The detachment of 1 Officer and 50 O Ranks of "A" Company at the XI Corps Musketry and Sniping School rejoined their Company during the morning, the G S Wagon going over to bring back their blankets etc. The 4th GLOUCESTERS relieved us at noon, and transport moving off by road at 12.35pm, "A" Company in motor lorries at 3.50pm via PADOVA - CAMPOSAMPIERO - CASTELFRANCO, arriving VILLA-DI-VILLA at 8pm. Weather:- a lovely day, clear cold night. RIGHT HALF BATTALION Usual Platoon Inspections carried out. A Company played B Coy 1/Bucks in Brigade Competition and won 3 goals to NIL. "A" Coy rejoined from GHQ Central School by Lorries. Weather:- a lovely day. [Signed] O D Challenor Captain. Commanding Detachment 1/4th Royal Berkshire Regiment. On the morning of our departure the Commandant GHQ Central School thanked the Commanding Officer for the splendid work and behaviour of all ranks of the detachment while engaged on working parties at the CONVENT etc. The Commandant GHQ Musketry School similarly congratulated the Commanding Officer on the work of the party of 50 O Ranks, attached to his School, and expressed his regret that it was necessary to replace such a hard-working and thoroughly dependable party.
