Entry | Training was carried on. Weather:- cold misty morning, fine later. SECOND HALF BATTALION. We left LOREGGIA at 9.25am marching to CAMPOSAMPIERO and entraining at 11am. As no motor lorry was available the transport made two journeys, and were ready to entrain at 8am. A loading party of 50 ORS under 2/LT WETHERILT reported at the STATION at 8am. We travelled via PADOVA arriving at BATTAGLIA at 1pm. Dinners were issued on the station and we moved off at 3.10pm marching via GALZIGNANO and TRAMONTE to CONVENT DI PRAGLIA arriving about 8pm. The march was a very tiring one as the roads were very bad, and contained several steep hair-pin turns. In addition a very dense fog came over at about 5pm. On arrival we found no billeting arrangements had been made and the detachment had to get in the best way it could for the night, pending being moved next day. Weather:- a fine warm day, heavy fog at night. |
