Entry Inspection of the Battalion by Companies by the Brigadier - route marching, musketry, games. Special instruction was given to bad shots by CAPT O B CHALLENOR MC. A Football Match Officers v Sergeants was played in the afternoon - result 2-1 to the Sergeants. The Divisional Band played during the interval and at the close of the game. Weather:- a lovely day in the sun. During the month the welcome from the ITALIANS has grown more cordial, and we are receiving great kindness from them. As soon as they get to know us, they will do anything to help us that we ask, and quite a good feeling now exists between us; the Parish Priest especially doing everything he can to help us. The attached letter has been received from the Commander of the CANADIAN CORPS with reference to the line we were holding in the VIMY Area. Remarks 3 OR to hospital sick.
