Location France, [The Trenches]
Entry We relieved the OXFORDS in the Left Sector. "A" Company in the morning. - "B" and "C" early afternoon - "D" late afternoon - relief completed 7.30pm. Dispositions "A" Company - RIGHT "B" Company - RIGHT CENTRE "C" Company - LEFT CENTRE "D" Company - LEFT. Each Company two platoons in front line, one in local support, one in Reserve (see map attached) The trenches on the right were good, but those on the left were bad, especially for the Left company, the ground had been shot pieces by both sides, and there was no holding power. Any rain brought the trenches down at once. The CANADIANS had put in excellent work on the whole of the Sector. The dugouts were good where they existed and the TUNNELLING COMPANY was busy on making more. A party of 300 was found by the BRIGADE to assist this Company. Weather:- a misty day. Remarks O.O.
