Entry The battalion remained in Divisional Reserve in CANOPUS TRENCH and CALIFORNIA DRIVE. Zero for the 144 BRIGADE attack - 5.20am. Orders were received at 11.30am to move two Companies forward to counter counter-attacks. "C" and "D" Companies proceeded to take up their positions in shell holes in WINCHESTER FARM. Dispositions as per map attached. CAPT. O.B. CHALLENOR MC received orders from the 144 BRIGADE and proceeded forward with the two companies. Battalion Headquarters, "A" and "B" Companies received orders to move to SPRINGFIELD at 2.20pm. "A" Company took up dispositions in shell holes in the immediate vicinity of SPRINGFIELD. "B" Company occupied shell holes just in front of ARBRE. BATTN HQ were established at JANET FARM. Weather:- a fine clear day. Remarks Map marked "B3" attached to Report marked "A8"
