Entry We were relieved by the OXFORDS, the relief being completed by 12.15am. (19th) We moved to RIGHT SUPPORT: "A" Company by the CEMETERY, "C" Company NW of HERMES, HQ and "B" and "D" Companies in the valley by the SLAG HEAP. There were bivouacs and shelters for all. A working party of "A" Company was found after relief. During the tour the enemy shelled the village at intervals day and night, and their machine guns were busy each night. Weather:- a very hot day. Remarks 2/LT R W WELLS and 2/LT E WALLIS joined the Battalion and were posted to D Company. A reinforcement of 5 OR joined the Battalion. O.O. No 40.
