Entry The Battalion moved back to billets in HAMEL exchanging with the 5th GLOUCESTERS, the relief being completed by 9.15am. Working parties of 400 men were found for work on the roads etc at ROISEL. This village was much less damaged than any other in this district. Many of the civilian inhabitants had been kept in TINCOURT and HAMEL, and the enemy had not had time to destroy them so thoroughly as other villages. Weather:- fine day, very cold wind.
