Entry Orders re the relief of the 7th ROYAL WARWICKS were cancelled, the 145th BRIGADE relieving the 144 BRIGADE in the Divisional Right Sector, the 143 BRIGADE on the left finding its own relief, holding a smaller front. Each Brigade on the right was to take an 8 days tour. The GLOUCESTERS - right front, the OXFORDS on the left, we were in support and the BUCKS in reserve. Our Battalion HQ - Map 62c. S.W. - N.5.a.88. B, C and D Companies up, A Company in CAMP 56. Rations were brought up after dusk each night, via FLAUCOURT. No packs were taken up, and only one blanket. Water was scarce, petrol tins being filled at CAPPY, and brought up each night with the rations. Water carts also were brought up, but owing to the intense cold, petrol tins and carts were frozen on the way up. Weather:- a very cold day and night. Remarks CAPT O B CHALLENOR went to FOURTH ARMY SCHOOL of Instruction FLEXICOURT.
