Entry All day was spent in trying to improve the trenches, but little work was possible owing to the saturated state of the ground. Companies remained in their positions, only the Platoons of B and D Coys changed places. The enemy's guns were very active night and day, especially from 5p.m. - 5.30p.m., when they covered the whole of the back area with very heavy fire. A new camp when the Brigade was out of the line, was started at LOWER WOOD. All available men of the Transport were put to work there, 2/Lt TURNER being in charge of them. Weather:- a fine day and night. Remarks Lieut TRIPP returned from Hospital. Casualties: 2/Lt F W LAMBE wounded, 3 wounded.
