Entry | We relieved the 4th Oxfords by 10.30a.m. Dispositions for the Right Sector as follows:- A Coy Right Front Company C Coy Left do do D Coy in Support B Coy in Reserve A Coy BROADWAY to junction MARLBOROUGH and HUNTER trench C Coy HUNTER Trench to BEAUMONT ROAD. A Coy Supports in SEAFORTH and ESSEX Trench. C Coy Supports in CRIPPS CUT - CARDIFF. D Coy 1 Platoon to A, 1 to C, 2 in 88 Trench. B Coy in cellars in AUCHONVILLERS, except the Lewis Guns in 86 Trench. The trenches were in good order an only a 600 yard frontage for the Battalion. Wire was very bad. Working parties from B and D Coys afternoon and evening on clearing up the trenches and laying corduroy. Weather:- a fine day. Remarks Casualties:- 1 killed, 1 wounded. |
