War Diary

1916-07-25
Regiment 1/4th Royal Berkshire
Location France, La Boisselle
Entry The GLOSTERS relieved by 11.30a.m., we moved back to bivouacs near ALBERT, all the Battalion being in by 1.0p.m. All were tired as many of us had only very few hours sleep in the six days and nights we had been holding the line, either at LA BOISSELLE or OVILLERS. They soon pulled themselves together after a hot meal. The bivouacs were changed to the other side of the road, near the river, in the afternoon. Weather:- a fine day.
