Entry | No work beyond clearing up was possible by day. A Conference of Commanding Officers was held at 3 p.m. at Brigade re the night attack. A and D companies were moved up into the trenches in the village. A very busy afternoon and evening, the main road near the trenches being full of odd units and working parties. At 11.45p.m. we received orders that we should not be wanted in the attack. A Coy returned to bivouacs, D Coy remained in the village, C relieved B Company. A very noisy night, every gun on both sides appeared to be firing. The Anzacs were on our Right - a splendid lot of men, full of confidence. Weather:- a fine day. Remarks:- Casualties 8 wounded. |
