Entry Working parties as on the 17th instant. All the trenches were full of various working parties at night on details - Stokes Mortar Battery, new dug-outs, special parties for Smoke Candles, etc. were to be found all along our front line. Enemy's 15cm guns were busy most of the afternoon. The following were mentioned in Despatches:- Lieut Colonel R J Clarke Lieut Colonel (Brevet Colonel) O Pearce-Serocold, CMG. Captain J N Aldworth Weather:- a fine day, cold night. Remarks Lt Cooke returned from Adjutants Course. Lt Gathorne-Hardy from Leave.
