Entry | The Battalion moved off at 4.40a.m. to the Brigade Rendezvous at YURENCHEUX, the Brigade moving off at 5.0a.m. - we were the second Battalion on the march. Route:- YURENCH - HEIRMONT - OAXILE-LE-CHATEAU - WAVANS - FROHEN-LE-GRAND - MEZZEROLLES - OUTREBOIS - OCCOCHE. The OXFORDS were billeted at No (1), The GLOSTERS (2) and ourselves (2) at No (2) (3), and the BUCKS at No(3). A halt was made from 9.30a.m. to 3.0p.m., one mile west of FROHEN-LE-GRANDE. We arrived at billets at 4.5p.m. It was a trying march at first and we lost 18 men before the long halt, but 14 of these rejoined in less than an hour. Very heavy rain fell between 4 and 5p.m. Billets were fairly clean. Weather:- a showery day. |
