Entry The Battalion moved to the Huts at COUIN, moving off from the village by Platoons from 8.0a.m. onwards, forming up as a Battalion, at COIGNEUX. We occupied "B" Block of Huts. The Cross roads at the HEBUTERNE end of SAILLY were heavily shelled by 5.9s from 6.15a.m. to 8.30a.m. The bomber of "C" Company practiced throwing live bombs under Lieut Lund. Company and Platoon inspections were held in the afternoon. Weather: a lovely day. Remarks 2/Lt Hampshire joined the Battalion & was posted to A Company. Capt Battcock went to Divisional Rest Station.
