| Entry | We relieved the 5th GLOSTERS in J Sector, the relief being completed by 11a.m. B Company on the right: D Company on the left: A Company Battalion Reserve in the village: C Company Brigade Reserve in the Keep. The trenches were in a very bad condition after the heavy rains. All working parties were employed on clearing the trenches. By night special parties wiring "M" Hedge and the new trench. The enemy's guns were fairly active all the day. A quiet night. Weather: a wet afternoon, but fine night. |
