Entry We relieved the 5th GLOSTERS going into the new 'J' Sector, the relief being completed by 11.0a.m. The Sector is divided into two Sections - RIGHT, SERRE ROAD to F T PRAT inclusive; LEFT, Right of F T DURAND to F T LASCELLE inclusive. Dispositions:- 2 Platoons in the Front Line 2 Platoons in Local Support in each Section. 'A' Company took the Right: 'C' Company the Left: 'B' Coy Battalion Reserve, 'D' Company Brigade Reserve. Working parties by night only on Communication trenches, Company Pioneer Sections took the Front Line work. The enemy fired 2 "Minnies", both falling about 175 yards in front of our wire. One hole was 10 feet deep and 22 feet across. The GOC held a Conference of all Commanding Officres and Adjutants in the afternoon. Weather:- a cooler day. A patrol, in charge of Lieut Teed went out from the Right and worked along the enemy's wire returning about 12.15a.m. Another patrol in charge of Lieut Wells went out from F T 19, working due East located a post of the enemy about 100 yards in from of their own wire.
