| Entry | Enemy shelled our trenches with Fizz Bangs in the afternoon. Work repairing fire trenches and widening communication trenches continued. A new communication trench and a bombing trench started, wire trestles put out in front of fire trenches. RIFLEMANS CRATER strengthened and two new dugouts constructed. At 11.30pm enemy showed one red light followed by two green lights then opened up rapid fire. 2/Lt Hopkins and 2/Lt Rex arrived from the Bedfordshire Regiment. 1 man killed by shell. |
