Entry All day was spent in the usual Platoon and Company inspections etc. The Commanding Officer inspected each Platoon in the morning and the Transport at 3.30p.m. At 2.0a.m. a raid was made in the 6th Glosters: the Battalion was ordered to stand to, the firing being exceptionally heavy, and two Companies were sent to re-inforce the HEBUTERNE garrison. They left about 3a.m., returning at 5a.m. Weather: a lovely day. Remarks Capt Boyle returned from extended Leave.
