Entry Working parties as usual. D Company relieved C Coy. Enemy guns were quiet all the morning and most active again all the afternoon. A patrol, under the command of Lieut Hardy, went out to examine "M" Hedge. A Pair of Field Glasses and some Hand Grenades were found. Their patrols were heard. Lieut Goolden & Corporal Taylor went out from FT 13 along the road : during a mist they saw two Germans near their wire and shot them both. They then returned to the spot where a bomb had been thrown at one of our Posts the previous evening, and found (1) A glass globe full of liquid with string net round it. (2) A string case with powder in it. (3) Six hand grenades. (4) A shoulder strap, siver braid on red cloth, 169 in gilt. (5) A pair of gloves. A patrol in charge of Lieut Lund went out in the evening and remained out most of the night, but no patrol was met with. Weather: a fine day, misty morning.
