Entry | All available men were employed in pumping in trying to deal with the volume of water. A and C Companies relieved B and D Companies by 6p.m. At 3.30a.m. our guns put in 150 shells into the CHEMIN CROUX. Enemy Machine Gun and Rifle fire was very heavy in reply, chiefly from their front line, judging from the amount of fire from their front line at morning and evening "stand-to", their line is much more strongly held than previously. Weather:- a very wet day and a torrence of rain at night. Remarks Capts Battcock & Lewis & Lt Challoner returned from Leave. |
