Regiment 1/4th Royal Berkshire
Location France, Hebuterne
Entry Working parties, morning only. "A" and "C" Companies relieved "B" and "D" by 4p.m. Our guns carried out an arranged bombardement on the enemy's trenches, opposite our Right Section, at 2.0p.m. They replied at once with about 150 shells and at 6p.m. they put about a dozen into the village. A special day-light reconnaissence of the enemy's wire was made by Lieuts CALDER and TEED from 10.15a.m. to 1.30p.m. The reconnaissence was carried out very excellently and the information they acquired was of great value.
