War Diary

1915-12-21
Regiment 1/4th Royal Berkshire
Location France, Hebuterne
Entry Working parties as on the 15th. Heavy rain was most disappointing and the trenches shewed great improvement. The parties on the Breastwork were cancelled. Our guns bombarded the enemy's trenches from GOMMECOURT CEMETERY to FERME SANS NOM, about 350 shells being fired. It was rather too misty for good observation, only four shells being fired in reply. Their trenches opposite appear to be fully manned. Weather:- a wet day. Remarks Lt Challoner retd from Leave, Lt Wells went to a Bombing Course.
