Entry The 145th Brigade relieved the 144th Brigade in the usual order, our relief commencing about 11.30a.m. The trenches were in about the same condition as when we left them, except the left communication trench MONTVALLIER, HADDON, which were in fairly good condition. "A" and "C" Companies took over the front line. The new arrangements for the KEEP Companies came into force, each Battalion having the use of its Company for working parties with the assistance of a RE Officer from the Field Company, each of these officers taking over a section of the line to work with the Battalion Commander. The new scheme for work etc for each Section, as arranged by the GOC was received. A patrol (Sergt Roberts, L/C Clayton, Ptes Comley and Bowell) went out at 9.50p.m. (a special report is attached) The GOC awarded "Green Cards" to L/c Clayton and Pte Comley for distinguished conduct. Weather:- a fine day, cold night. Remarks Casualty:- 1 Killed, 2 Wounded.
