| Entry | Working parties from "D" Company and RIR as on the 18th. A patrol (Corpl Haynes and two men) reconnoitred the PUISIEUX ROAD for about 500 yards East of our trenches: they reported a Sentry patrolling near the POPLARS: they left at 5.30p.m. and returned at 6.45p.m. On the 18th a patrol (Lieut Oldacre and two men) went out to the end of the hedge running from HOCHE: the enemy's front line is apparently boarded for the patrol heard the sound of feet on the wood. They went out at 3.0a.m. returning at 4.30a.m. Weather: a fine day and not quite so cold a night. |
