Entry The 145th Brigade relieved the 144th from 10.0a.m. onwards. We were the second Battalion and completed our relief of the 4th GLOSTERS about 12.30p.m. A and C Companies went to the trenches; B to the KEEP: D Company to the CHATEAU. A Company left AUTHIE at 8.30a.m. the other Companies following at 20 minute interval. The HQ and "A" Company of the 10th Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers were attached to us for instruction; they arrived about 6p.m. One platoon was attached to each of our Companies and Company HQ to "B" Company. Their HQ were billeted in the two houses opposite our HQ. Our Quartermaster's Staff made all arrangements for dealing with their supplies. All arrangements worked very well. A wet day and bad night. Remarks Lt Ridley went on leave. Maj Clarke took on duties of Adjutant. Capt Sharpe left the Bn to rejoin the 1st Bn. It was with great regret we parted after being so long together. He was very popular with all ranks and will be greatly missed.
